At St. Peter Catholic School, all of our students from kindergarten through grade eight spend time with specially trained faculty in the Guild. The Guild is a special classroom outfitted to integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) into a cohesive, hands-on learning experience where our students explore real-world applications.
In the Guild, our students collaborate on a variety of hands-on, and project-based learning to solve real-world problems. The St. Peter Guild encourages students to focus on critical thinking, including building models, conducting experiments, designing prototypes, and applying mathematical concepts to practical scenarios.
Engineering & Design: Students build, test, and redesign models such as gumdrop bridges, catapults, or rollercoasters, learning engineering principles.
Scientific Experiments: Students engage in hands-on experiments to understand concepts, such as observing chemical reactions, testing agricultural concepts (e.g., apple oxidation), or exploring the water cycle.
Mathematics Applications: Math is applied through data analysis, data modeling, and mathematical modeling in real-world scenarios.
Collaborative Problem Solving: Students work in teams to find solutions to complex problems, fostering communication and project management skills.
