NEW FAMILY MENTORSHIP-
CONNECTION OPPORTUNITY

Welcome to the 2009-2010 School Year!  The Parent Association is made up of all the parents and guardians of our St. Peter Catholic School students.  As a parent or guardian of a child or children at St. Peter Catholic School, you are automatically a member of the P.A.

Membership is free and meetings are fun and informative.  The PA helps to plan and/or sponsor many events throughout the year that support the school.  Some of these events are fundraising efforts that support school activities, and most of these events are related to building our community at St. Peter and providing support to, and appreciation for, our hard-working teachers.

In building our community we want to be certain to provide a special welcome to new families to St. Peter Catholic School.  We remember that first month of school when every thing is new – wouldn’t it be nice to have someone to walk you through the answers to those questions that you have that seem too minor to ask the principal or teacher but important to you?   The school does a good job of communicating the basic information about the events throughout the year, questions can come up that might best be answered by a “veteran” parent.

Questions like the following–

Is it ok if I eat lunch with my child?

What is Bikes and cars?

Can and do parents attend Friday morning mass?

What is the Marathon – do I need to train?

What is the School Directory?

Who is Zero the Hero?

What do I do if my child needs to go to a doctor appt?

Is the Spring Fun Fest really as fun as people tell me?

We have a number of families who have volunteered to be available to be a mentor family to new families.  This is a strictly voluntary program new this school year.  Depending on the response this year- We hope to expand this next year to include a more official new family welcome program.

Volunteer Information and Opportunities

Welcome to the 2009-2010 School Year!  The Parent Association is made up of all the parents and guardians of our St. Peter Catholic School students.  As a parent or guardian of a child or children at St. Peter Catholic School, you are automatically a member of the P.A.

There are nine volunteer events this year that are directly related to teacher appreciation.  This year, each grade is assigned to one of these events.  Most of these events will take the coordinator approximately 2-3 hours to complete, and can be coordinated from home, or with another parent.
