Cecilia CrowleyCecilia Crowley

Principal
I have taught or worked as an administrator for Catholic Schools for the past 30 years. I cannot imagine not working in a setting where I am able to share my faith. I have my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the College of St. Catherine. I received my Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and my Educational Specialist degree from the University of St. Thomas. I feel blessed to be a member of St. Peter Catholic School community.

Sandy KaneSandy Kane

Student Learning Coordinator and 7/8 House Teacher
I graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Science and Math for Elementary Education. I later went on to St. Mary’s University to earn my Master of Arts degree in Education Administration and then continued on to the K-12 Principal Licensure program. Throughout my career, I have had experience teaching religion, math, and science to fifth graders, and math, art, religion, and world geography to seventh and eighth graders. I have also had three years experience as an Assistant Principal and one year as a part-time Educational Specialist. I came to St. Peter Catholic School in the fall of 2006, where I have had the opportunity to work with the 7th & 8th Grade House and have spent some time working in administration. I thank God for leading me to St. Peter Catholic School, and I am happy to be a member of this community. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband Ryan and our two young children, Maggie and Brady. I also enjoy traveling to Illinois to spend time with my family and friends.

Jodi Roventine

Preschool Director
I am thrilled to be a part of the St. Peter Catholic School community as Preschool Teacher and Director. I am a graduate of St. Mary’s University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. My teaching experience includes 12 years at Holy Trinity in South St. Paul where I spent time teaching Preschool and 3rd grade. I love being a part of a child’s early learning, watching them learn and grow in so many ways. I enjoy spending time with my husband, Mykl, and our two daughters, Matilda and Lucy. I am honored to be involved in such an outstanding school, as a teacher and as a parent.

Carolyn Dierberger

Full Day Kindergarten Teacher
I have taught Kindergarten for many years, all in Catholic schools. I believe in my heart that working with these little ones is my true calling. I graduated from the College of St. Catherine and later received my Masters degree in Teaching and Learning from Saint Mary’s University. My favorite subject to teach is Religion. I am excited to share my faith with my little friends and help them develop and nuture a daily relationship with Jesus. I am so glad to be a part of the St. Peter community and look forward to a wonderful year with my Kindergartners!

Cathi HoganCathi Hogan

Half-Day Kindergarten Teacher
I am delighted and honored to be teaching kindergarten at St. Peter Catholic School, where, my mother, my siblings and I attended grade school as children.
I completed my undergraduate work from the University of Wisconsin Stout and the University of Oregon, with an Early Childhood certificate and Elementary Education degree.  I earned a Masters degree in Educational Leadership, from the University of St. Thomas.  I began my teaching career as a kindergarten teacher, and have since taught preschool, first grade, and at a college level where I supervised student teachers.  My true passion has always been teaching kindergarten.  I am thrilled to have this opportunity to provide five and six year olds with their first taste of formal education in a Catholic school.  As I prepare each child for first grade, with life-long lessons and skills, I know in my heart that there could be no better job than this.  When I’m not teaching, I enjoy traveling, reading, sewing, keeping active, and spending time with my friends and family.  I am blessed with a wonderful husband, two daughters, two sons, and a new son-in-law. 

Rebecca Scanlan
First Grade Teacher
I graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Elementary Education. I started my teaching career as a substitute teacher in the St. Paul Public School District, Mendota Heights Public School District, and throughout the Archdiocese.  I have taught summer school for the St. Paul Public School District. I have attended Catholic schools from kindergarten throughout college and feel very blessed to have the opportunity to teach at St. Peter's.

Amy HeringAmy Hering

First Grade Teacher
As a St. Peter Catholic School alumnus, I have experienced life here as both a student and a teacher. After graduating from St. Peter Catholic School, I continued my Catholic education at Hill-Murray before going on to Iowa State University to earn two Bachelor degrees in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education.  I enjoy continuing my education through workshops and lectures offered locally.  I have been teaching first grade at St. Peter's since 2000.  I feel blessed to have gotten to know so many wonderful students and families.  I have always known that teaching first grade in a Catholic school was what I wanted to do. I feel very lucky to have found this position so early in my teaching career.

Shelley BrinkmanDiane Krenz

Second Grade Teacher
I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade in the archdiocese. I have also been a substitute teacher in the archdiocese at the elementary level. I am certainly looking forward to working with the students, staff and families here at St. Peter's. I am excited to share my faith and to help prepare the students for the sacraments.

Second Grade Teacher
I am a second grade teacher here at St. Peter Catholic School! I taught fifth grade during my first four years here, and since 2004, I have been enjoying teaching second grade. Sharing in students’ excitement when they improve their writing skills, learn a new and challenging math concept, and celebrate sacraments is so rewarding!
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph Minnesota in 2000. In December 2007, I graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a Masters of Arts degree in Education.

Third Grade Teacher
I am originally from Cloquet, MN and moved to the Twin Cities a few years ago.  I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2004.  I started my teaching career by subbing in the St. Paul School district.  After doing that for a year I was blessed with the opportunity to teach third grade at St. Peter Catholic School.  It is incredibly wonderful to work with third graders!  I thank God for helping me pursue my calling in life.

Third Grade Teacher
I joined the faculty of St. Peter School in the fall of 2001. Prior to this, I had experience as a second and third grade teacher in a smaller Catholic grade school in the archdiocese. My undergraduate work was completed at the University of St. Thomas, where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and History. In 2006, I received my Masters in Religious Education from the University of St. Thomas. I enjoy working with the teachers, parents, and students of St. Peter Catholic School.

Michele AndersonMichele Anderson

Fourth Grade Teacher
I graduated from the College of St. Catherine's in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. I graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a Master of Arts degree in Special Education - Learning Disabilities in 1985. I have taught in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Maplewood, and North St. Paul in Catholic, public and charter schools. I have recently taken graduate classes at Hamline University and the University of Minnesota with concentrations in literacy and ecology. I am the parent of three children whom are all graduates of St. Peter Catholic School.  This year reinforces my belief that, even after more than ten years of teaching at St. Peter Catholic School, every year is better than the last.

Fourth Grade Teacher
I graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana and have taught school in Illinois, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Minnesota.  As a teacher, parent, and grandparent, I have experienced education from many angles.  I have attended the summer Literacy Institute at Hamline University for the past several years. This week-long experience always excites me for the coming school year.  Parent support, interest, and cooperation at St. Peter Catholic School is exceptional.  I love coming to work.

Paul EllisPaul Ellis

Fifth Grade Homeroom Teacher
Originally from Janesville, Wisconsin, I attended the University of Wisconsin - River Falls where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.  My wife and I moved to the Twin Cities after my first teaching job in a small town in western Minnesota.  I began teaching sixth grade here at St. Peter Catholic School in the fall of 1982.  In the fall of 2006 I returned to my roots and accepted a position in fifth grade, after many years as a middle school science teacher.  As a fifth grade teacher, I am able to teach a variety of subjects. To fulfill my science interests, I continue to teach science to the sixth grade.

I enjoy working at St. Peter Catholic School because the mission statement corresponds to my philosophy of education.  We prepare students for their future academic and spiritual lives.  The collaboration of the teaching staff supports our mission and ministry as Catholic school teachers.  I graduated from the University of New Mexico, after earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in Math Education.  After returning to Minnesota, I earned my Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas.  I have over ten years of teaching experience in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, and I have been at St. Peter Catholic School since 2001.   I am happy to be working near the neighborhood where I grew up and attended St. Jerome’s Catholic School and Hill-Murray.

Bridget BaronBridget Baron

Sixth Grade Homeroom Teacher
I graduated from Creighton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Secondary Education. I started my career as a volunteer teacher at Red Cloud Indian School in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Then I spent a year teaching sixth and seventh grade language arts at St. Anthony/ New Brighton Middle School. I joined the St. Peter family in the fall of 2004 and have been so blessed to work with wonderful students, families, teachers, and administrators.

Sixth Grade Homeroom Teacher
Since graduating from the College of St. Benedict with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education, I have acquired a Masters degree in Learning Disabilities and a Masters in Educational Leadership, both from the University of St. Thomas.  I am a K-12 Catholic school alumnus with 26+ years in Catholic education.  I am happy to be a member of the St. Peter Catholic School community as a teacher.

Annie Clintsman

Seventh/Eighth Religion and Language Arts
I teach middle school religion, 7th grade language arts, library for grades K-7, and I am also the extended day director at St. Peter Catholic School. I grew up in Maplewood, MN, as the third oldest of eight children. I have been blessed to receive a Catholic education my whole life. After attending Saint Jerome School, preschool through 8th grade, I continued to receive a quality Catholic education at Hill-Murray School. I graduated from the College of Saint Benedict in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Communication Arts and Literature. In my free time I enjoy listening to music, writing, fishing, running, and playing soccer whenever I can. My favorite pastime is spending time with family and friends. I feel honored to be part of the community of St. Peter Catholic School, and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to teach in a Catholic school environment.

Brigid AustinBrigid Austin

Eighth Grade Homeroom Teacher
I teach 8th grade language arts and 7th grade geography at St. Peter Catholic School. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of St. Thomas in 2005, where I studied English, Communication Studies, and Education.  After graduation, I immediately began working on my Master of Arts in Communication Studies.  As a master’s student, I worked as an instructor and a teaching assistant. I have presented my writing at both national and regional Communication Conventions. In August 2007 I graduated after completing my thesis on newspaper coverage of homelessness in the United States.  Before arriving at St. Peter Catholic School, I taught Public Speaking at the University of Minnesota and volunteered as a Youth Group Leader and religious education teacher at Pax Christi Catholic Community in Eden Prairie.  Since I arrived at St. Peter in 2007, I have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of the students, parents, and parishioners.  I truly feel blessed to be a part of the school and the community. 

Georgia RandallGeorgia Randall

Eighth Grade Homeroom Teacher
I graduated from Buena Vista College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences in the winter of 1976.  My first teaching assignment was at St. Peter and Paul Catholic School in West Bend, Iowa. I taught 8th grade there for three years.  At that time, we moved to Oakdale due to a job change by my husband.  I worked in health care for many years before joining the faculty of St. Peter Catholic School in the fall of 1986.  I began and remain an 8th grade homeroom teacher.  In the fall of 1993, I was accepted into the Murray Cohort program and began work on my Master of Arts degree.  I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of St. Thomas in July of 1996.  Teaching is and has always been my passion.  Students at middle school level are the greatest people in the world to work with, and I plan to continue my journey with them for many more years.

Linda SorensenLinda Sorensen

Physical Education Teacher and 7/8 Spanish
In 2007, I joined the St. Peter Catholic School community as the Physical Education teacher. I am very happy to be here. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota, and I am certified in Physical Education, Health Education, and Coaching. I have spent many years with the Title I program and coaching middle school basketball and softball. I have many years experience teaching Physical Education.

Christina Pederson

Music Teacher & 7/8 Religion
I grew up in Albert Lea, MN and attended college at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. There I earned B.A. degrees in English, Secondary Education, and K-12 Music Education. I have taught high school English for five years in both public and private schools. I finished my Master of Music degree in 2007 and feel blessed to have the opportunity to now teach K-8 Music at St. Peter's. My husband, Eric, also works within Catholic Education in the Schools office of the Archdiocese. We both love the privilege of incorporating the Catholic faith into the daily activities at school! I love to sing and am a choir member of VocalEssence, and look forward to singing with the students of St. Peter's!

Sue Johnson

Technology Teacher and 7/8 Spanish
I was a student at Presentation of the BVM for 8 years and then went to John Glenn for a year and finally 3 years at North St. Paul. I married and have a wonderful husband, 3 super children and their spouses, and to top it off, 6 grandchildren to love and cherish. After getting my children off to school I worked as a school cook and later as a classroom paraprofessional. Finally, I took the time to complete my BA in education at St. Catherine’s and began teaching Technology and giving tech. support. I am looking forward to sharing with and learning from the community of St. Peter. It feels good to be back in my home area and I feel fortunate to have this opportunity!
